Wooden House Nursery School is set in an idyllic position in Chettiscombe, nr. Tiverton, Devon.

We welcome all children, from age 2 – 5 to our stimulating and friendly environment.

The school has a long and happy history and continues to maintain the high standards of care and education that it has always had a reputation for.

Our setting is in a rural area, surrounded by farmland and is within walking distance of the Knightshayes Estate and Tiverton. We take advantage of this to expand the children’s experience of nature and the outdoor life in a safe and controlled manner.

Our staff are highly trained and each bring their own personality to the classroom. As the children move through the school, they benefit from different outlooks and approaches to learning.

The staff continually strive to keep up to date with current thinking and legislation connected to children’s development. The building is split into 4 classrooms with the planning tailored to meet the needs of the individual children in each group. We celebrate and extend what they can do at the same time as supporting and helping with areas of development that are a little more challenging for them. Our planning offers a range of activities supporting the child’s holistic development and providing quality adult interaction throughout the day.

There is an active and very supportive parent’s committee who arrange a variety of social and fund-raising events. This is completely voluntary and provides an opportunity to meet other parents. (Our PTA is currently not active due to the COVID pandemic but will hopefully reform in September 2021).

Please do not hesitate contact us if you would like more information, or to arrange a viewing at our setting, call 01884 252161 or email: woodenhouse@live.co.uk
